Arni’s has been a Lafayette tradition for more than 40 years and serves pizza, salads, sandwiches, soups and pasta. This Arni’s at Market Square was the first, opened in 1965, and they have branched out to 18 locations statewide, the Elmwood location is still operated by Brad Cohen, Arni's son. The fascinating children's room features vintage toy and game collections, and The Loading Dock, a 21 and over bar, has a warehouse theme with scales, packing cases and a real semi truck for ambience. The big front room may be spare by comparison, but it buzzes with locals enjoying Arni's Famous Jr. Salad with signature homemade salad dressings, fabulous thin crust pizzas (try the pepperoni) pastas, hot sandwiches, soups, munchies and big rich desserts including caramel apple granny and cheesecake.
